It Takes a Village

Building a Website is no small task, even with an open-source content management system like WordPress.  There are so many details to take care of, so much writing of content to peck out on the keyboard, so many images to get just right, and that’s just the beginning! Later on comes all of the products, and the continuing operation of the site.

Thanks

Thanks to Paul Gerardi for all the hours of work and the loving attention that he has given to this website’s creation. Thanks to Sharon Gerardi for her marvelous eye with a camera, her patience withPaul through out the process of data input, and for the creativeness and vision she has shown from Sharon’s Creative Art, through Sharon’s Evolution, to Gerardi Gems.

Thanks to Project A for their continued customer service, their unique hosting abilities, and their hometown touch that can only come from doing business in Ashland Oregon.  Warm thanks for Mark Garrison (and the rest of Project A support team) for his continual attention to detail and his unfailing ability to explain even the most difficult of website processes, so that the layman website developer can understand what it takes to fix something that is broken deep within a website.

Images and Content

All images contained in Gerardi Gems were photographed either by Sharon Gerardi or Paul Gerardi.

All content contained in Gerardi Gems was written either by Sharon Gerardi or Paul Gerardi, with the exception of our website policies (these are standard website operating procedures) which were edited locally by Paul and Sharon.

Our Biggest Thanks

And finally, we thank you, our customers.  We appreciate all our comments, criticisms, purchases, passion, and exuberant support of what we do here on this site, and we hope to meet each and every one of you someday.

And, as always, feel free to contact us for any reason, It’s always great to hear from you!

How to Care for Your Wire Wrapped Pendant

Overview

NOTE:  This page is incomplete!

Shine your pendant with a jeweler’s rouge rag, or another soft cloth.

Gold, Silver, and Copper are all maleable metals, so don’t be rough with your new jewelry!  Treat is with tender care. If you snag your pendant and any  part of the wire wrap bends, slowly and gently bend it back into place with your fingers or a pair of needle nose pliers.  If you are unsure of how to do this, e-mail us using our Contact Gerardi Gems form at the bottom of each of our web pages.

You can use a liquid cleaner like Tarnex to clean your pendant, but beware, it will get tarnished amore quickly than if you use a jewelers rouge rag.

Keep your pendant in a safe place, like your jewelry box, when you are not wearing it.

How to Care for Your Oregon Driftwoood Windchime

How to Care for Your Oregon Driftwood Windchime

Overview

Your Oregon Driftwood Wind Chime is durable and ready to hang upon arrival. It comes complete with a copper hanger, although you may have to install a screw hook if you are attaching it to the eves of your house, or to your indoor ceiling. If so, be sure that you use a hook of appropriate size for the weight of your chime so that the constant weight does not pull the hook out. Also, be sure to install your screw hook into a solid piece of wood.

Adjustments

All of our Oregon Driftwood Wind Chimes use copper attachements to secure the agate slabs to the driftwood. Some of these attachments swing freely, and should not need any attention for the life of the wind chime. Other attachments are bound tightly to the driftwood and can be used to adjust the distance between the agate slabs. To do this, gently and slowly bend the attachment just a little bit, then look the distance between the agate slabs. If necessary do this a few times until you are satisfied that they will each just barely touch each other. It sometimes helps to gently turn the agate slabs so that you see them alll lengthwise at the same time.

If you have purchases a wind chime with a copper spiral, please know that copper is a maleable metal and may bend slightly during shipping. If this happens, no worries! Simply hang the chime in a convenient place and slowly bend the copper to the desired position, making sure that the copper spiral does not hit either the driftwood piece, or interferes with any of the agates slabs.

Can my chime get wet?

Drifwood by its nature has been wet, and your wind chime is just fine in the rain or snow. It will get wet and dry out with the seasons. Also if you are hanging your wind chime outside, the copper will beautifilly petina (tarnish) over time. This does not affect the durability of your chime, just its appearance.

Sweet Relief FAQs

Home » gerardi gems » Page 3

Sweet Relief – frequently asked questions

Sweet Relief Pain Relief Cream is a dextrose based cream which eliminates pain when placed on the affected areas over sensory nerves. Application of dextrose on the skin appears to calm sensory nerve sensations when applied over the complete nerve path that pertains to the painful area. If you don’t find your answer here, feel free to contact us.

Q: Why should I use Sweet Relief?

A: People who use this dextrose (sugar) cream on their skin usually are more functional and comfortable, plus dextrose is a small molecule and can better penetrate the skin to relieve aches and pains.

Q: How and Where do I apply The Cream?

A: Either use your fingers for easily accessible areas, or an applicator for harder to reach areas. Ideally, apply Sweet Relief after a shower or bath, or first use a hot wet compress on your painful area. This increases skin permeability. Also, self use is essential. Someone else can help you with the application when they are there, but you need to reliably apply Sweet Relief twice a day or more.

Q: How does Sweet Relief work?

A: Dextrose eliminates pain when placed on the correct area over sensory nerves. Application of dextrose on the skin appears to calm nerve sensations when applied over the complete nerve path that pertains to the painful area. This effect becomes long lasting and more substantial with repeated applications.

Q: What will I notice?

A: Substantial reduction in some pain within minutes or no change at all. If you notice no change, you will still be helping to heal your nerves (making them less sensitive).

Q: When will I get better?

A: Pain is from both deep and superficial structures. If the deep structures need to heal, that takes 2-3 months. Although it may take time, you are encouraged to faithfully apply Sweet Relief to continue to help soothe the nerve structures.

Q: When should I decrease the application frequency to daily?

A: When there is no pain and no stiffness for 2 months.

Q: What if I can’t seem to remember to apply Sweet Release?

A: This takes practice. A solution is to place the cream in a prominent location, perhaps in a place where you can’t get dressed in the morning or put pajamas on without first seeing the jar of Sweet Relief . You can also place the jar on the bathroom counter near the sink so that as you begin your morning routine you will notice the cream. You will develop your own reminders, but the main thing is to practice ways to not forget.

Q: Clothing Protection hints…

A: Sweet Relief is pain relieving body lotion, so treat it as a body lotion in regard to contact with clothing. An undershirt may be helpful, and rinsing the middle portion of bras to avoid washing too frequently is recommended.
